Effingham Regrinding Inc began as a sole proprietorship in Effingham, IL in 1943. It grew to a partnership in 1950 and was incorporated in 1957. Quickly outgrowing its original downtown Effingham location, Effingham Regrinding Inc relocated to its current location at 411 W. Wernsing Ave, in Effingham, with five additions to the original building in the 1950s and 60s. Our current 11,000 square foot machine shop is home to not only an inventory of reground cranks, cams, and reconditioned connecting rods, but also Clevite and Federal-Mogul main and rod bearings, including those hard-to-find applications.
For the past 75 years, Effingham Regrinding Inc has built a reputation for quality workmanship, reasonable prices, and great customer service. Our crank, cam, and rod departments are staffed with experienced machinists whose combined experience exceeds 100 years, and overall our technicians have an average of over 29 years of experience.
Dean, the President of Effingham Regrinding Inc, has been employed here since 1981. He succeeded his father as president in 2015. Dean wears many hats at Effingham Regrinding Inc, from running the sales department to using his many years of experience to operate every machine in our shop. He understands the complete remanufacturing process from start to finish.
Our rod department employee has been with us since 1975. His attention to detail and strong work ethic results in the finest babbitt work in the industry. His mentor, who was with the company for over 51 years, was one of those rare employees who had a talent for solving difficult problems but made it look easy and passed that knowledge on.
Our crankshaft grinder has been employed since 1984. He cares about every detail in the crank grinding process, which results in quality workmanship when a crank is returned to a customer.
Our newest employee was hired in 2015 to replace our long-time cam grinder, who retired after 42 years of service and left a treasure trove of knowledge to pass on. Our newest cam grinder is a very conscientious employee who is eager to learn new things.
We have in-house training to develop skills, and we are always looking for bright, talented, and skilled employees that are willing to learn about the trade.
Effingham Regrinding Inc has also invested in the finest quality machinery, with names well known in the industry such as Sunnen, Berco, Gleason, and Peterson, just to name a few. If we aren't able to provide the service you need, we will connect you to someone who can and who you can trust.
